Vinodkumar (31), son of Vetri Selvan, hails from Anbu Chettipalayam near Panruti in Cuddalore district. He becomes a close acquaintance with Rahmatnisha (20), in Trichy Kajamalai Muslim Street, through Facebook a year ago.
After that, the two got used to it through WhatsApp. Nisha says she falls in love with Vinodkumar at one point. Rahmat Nisha, who contacted Vinodkumar 10 days back, said she needed to meet him quickly and invited him to come to Trichy. Thus, Vinodkumar arrived in Trichy on 5th with his expensive two-wheeler. He contacted Rahmatnisha as he was near the Mannapuram Army Ground.
Some have threatened to release him only if he pays Rs 1 lakh. But when Vinodkumar said he had no cash, they grabbed the costly two-wheeler, and they left him in the MGR statue area, asking him to pay the money and get the vehicle back.
Later, Vinod Kumar held up a complaint at the KK Nagar police station. Following this, the police informed the members of the kidnapping gang through Vinod Kumar yesterday that they were ready to give Rs. 1 lakh. When they came to get the cash, Raghamatnisha and his assistants Mohammad Rafiq son Asik (Alias) Nivas (21) of Valluvarnagar and Mohammad Farooq son Mohammad Yasser (22) of Padayachi Road, Palakkad.
