Chennai: It’s been more than 5 months since the educational institutions in the State have been shut due to the pandemic situation. However, after much ado, schools were permitted to conduct online classes for the students. While government schools have opted for “Kalvi Tholaikatchi” and pre-recorded sessions, the private teachers.
They also ensure that the students attend the online classes and conduct assessment exams too, virtually.
There emerged concerns from parents and politicians, as few students were not able to manage laptops or highly smartphones, finding it troublesome to go to the online classes. There were few untoward occurrences detailed as well.
After considering the rise in complaints, the Commissioner of School Education, Siggy Thomas Vaidhyan IAS, has announced that no school would compel the students to go to the online classes. Further, he said, the staff shouldn’t consider the attendance of the students inside reviewing, and also the schools banned them to conduct online evaluations. He moreover directed the schools to appoint an extraordinary instruction counselor to monitor the online sessions.
It is to consider that Tamil Nadu Education Minister Sengottaiyan had moreover said that his division would take strict action against the schools that force the parents to dispatch full charge. He moreover said “We as of now had instructed all schools through chief educational officers in their individual districts in association with constrained expense collection. The division has set up a partitioned cell to hold up a complaint against the schools which do so”.
