Railways are the biggest public sector in India. It is traveled by millions of people day by day. This brings crores of income to the central government. Many people prefer to travel by train, as it is less costly for standard people to travel.
In this circumstance, the railway organization is arranging to include a new feature called “Token User Charge” in the train tickets of the passengers at the busy railway stations.
The extra amount will be utilized for the development of railway stations and advanced infrastructure. Regarding this, Railway Commission CEO and Chairman VK Yadav said, “We have decided to fix only the smallest fare for passengers. This as it applies to stations that are as of now being repaired and are likely to be refurbished.
These additional charges will be affordable to travelers and will never influence passengers. Token user charges will be required only at railway stations, which are expected to extend passenger arrivals over the following 5 years.”
