Mumbai: Madan Sharma, 65, a former naval officer from Kandivali East in Mumbai, recently received a cartoon about Maharashtra Chief Minister Uttam Thackeray on WhatsApp. He shared this with some others.
Some enraged mob indiscriminately attacked Madan Sharma yesterday and fled. He has lodged a complaint at the Samta Nagar police station. The incident has caused a stir in Mumbai.
And the footage of his attack was recorded on a CCTV camera. It has now gone viral on social websites. Madan Sharma’s eyes were seriously injured in the attack.
Kandivali East BJP MLA Atul Bhatkalkar said that it was Shiv Sena volunteers who attacked Sharma. He said the attack was carried out by a faction of the Shiv Sena, the Shaka Pramukh.
