A Kochi court has granted bail to Swapna Suresh in a Kerala gold smuggling case. However, she will not be released from jail as she is facing the NIA case.

More than 20 people, including Sarith, Swapna Suresh, and Chandip Nair, have been arrested in connection with a case of gold smuggling through the United Arab Emirates embassy parcel in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The case is being simultaneously investigated by the National Intelligence Agency, the Central Government agencies of the Enforcement Department and the Customs Department.
As Swapna Suresh was close to the ruling party, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched an investigation into the gold smuggling incident to several key figures.
A Kochi court has granted bail to Swapna in a case related to the Kerala gold smuggling case.
According to the criminal procedure, a charge sheet should be filed against the accused within 60-90 days.
Although Swapna was granted bail in the customs case, she is facing trial in the NIA case for allegedly having links with terrorists. Therefore, it has come to light, that she will not be released from jail.
