In Royapettah, Chennai, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met reporters today and briefed them on agricultural laws.
She then said that the farmer who produced the agricultural produce was given full freedom by the agricultural laws. Agricultural products can be sold between states. State agricultural markets have not changed.
Farmers can decide how much to sell, at what price, and to whom. Farmers have been given full rights through agricultural laws. Nirmala Sitharaman said the 8 to 8.5 percent tax levied on farmers would no longer exist.
