A moderate earthquake shook the Ukhrul district of Manipur on Wednesday morning. The quake measured 5.4 on the Richter scale.
The National Seismological Survey said:
The epicenter was reported at 3.33 am on Wednesday. The quake, which lasted a few seconds, measured 5.4 on the Richter scale. The quake was centered at a depth of 10 km below the ground.
No damage was reported from the quake. Most of them did not feel it as they were asleep during the early morning quake. However, people in the area said that some items in the house were moved from one place, and also some small items fell down.

Earlier on September 1, a moderate earthquake 55 km east of Ukhrul in Manipur. The quake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale.
