Under the (Make in India) scheme, the federal government has approved the setting up of 10 mobile phone manufacturing companies and 6 electronics manufacturing companies in India, including Apple and Samsung. This permission has been granted on the basis of productive incentives.

As a result, the world’s leading mobile phone makers Apple and Samsung are gradually making India their main manufacturing hub.
Indian companies including Lava, Micromax, Budget Electronics, UDL, and Optiemus Electronics are also licensed under the scheme.
Only mobile phones worth over Rs 15,000 will be manufactured by these companies. It is also reported that 60 percent of these will be exported.
