Joseph Stiglitz, an American economist, won the 2001 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. He has been working at Columbia University and has been studying various economic activities.
Speaking at an online seminar on the government’s handling of the corona epidemic, Joseph Stiglitz accused Prime Minister Modi of dividing India on the basis of religion as Hindu-Muslim.
“Economic growth can be achieved by trying to create an inclusive society. Separatist politics is against economic progress. Prime Minister Modi seeks to turn Hindus against Muslims in India. This separatist political will weaken society and the economy forever.” According to Joseph Stiglitz, the corona freeze in India has failed in its purpose.
He advised the Government of India to focus on controlling the epidemic as the economic repercussions cannot be overcome without dealing with the epidemic.
