Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan, 74, who was undergoing heart surgery at a Delhi hospital, died on Thursday.

Ramvilas Paswan is the Consumer Affairs Minister in the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party in Bihar state, underwent heart surgery last Sunday.
Paswan, who had been undergoing treatment at a Delhi hospital for the past one month, died on Thursday. Various political party leaders have expressed condolences over his death.
It is noteworthy that Ramvilas Paswan has served as a Member of Parliament 8 times.
President Ramnath Govind has condoled his death. He said in a statement, “The country has lost a visionary leader with the demise of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan. He was very active in Parliament and served for a long time. “
Prime Minister Modi has condoled his death. He said in his press release, “The demise of Ramvilas Paswan is a loss to me personally. I lost my friend. Paswan was keen to ensure that every poor person lived a dignified life. ” He said.
