The British Journal of Nutrition looked at the effects of insomnia and coffee drinking after waking up. ” Coffee may have some negative effect on blood glucose control (ie, blood sugar)” said researchers at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom.
The researcher’s findings show that participants who had a restful night’s sleep did not have a worsening of blood glucose/insulin after breakfast compared to a normal night’s sleep.
Strong black coffee can be consumed before breakfast, and can significantly increase the blood glucose level at 50%. Drinking coffee at a night’s sleep can be the immediate solution to the problem of insomnia.
