Prime Minister Narendra Modi today unveiled a 100 rupee coin in memory of the late BJP leader Vijaya Raje Scindia on his 100th birthday. Rajamata Vijayaraje Scindia was one of the founding leaders of the Jana Sangam, the forerunner of the BJP.
A 100 rupee coin was issued today in his memory on the occasion of his 100th birthday. The coin was unveiled by Prime Minister Modi via video conference. He had earlier posted this on his Twitter yesterday.
The event was attended by Vijayaraje’s family and prominent political leaders. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia is the daughter of Vijay Raje Scindia. Jyotiraditya Scindia is the grandson of Vijayaraje Scindia.
Recently, he left the Madhya Pradesh State Congress party and joined the BJP with his supporters. It is noteworthy that the Congress rule in the state was overthrown and the BJP held on to power.
