National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test(NEET) as the name says it is a national level eligibility exam, performed to provide the admissions to medical-related courses. The exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency(NTA) once every year in offline mode. This year it was conducted on 13th September 2020 across 155 cities in India. The Supreme Court has directed NTA to announce the NEET 2020 result on 16th October 2020.
SC also instructed NTA to conduct the 2nd phase of the exam for the students who could not attend the test due to Covid-19 on 14th October 2020, it has said that there will be no changes in the syllabus or exam pattern for a retest.
This year the cut-off is suspected to be higher as the test was easy and the candidate attendance percentage was also merely higher. The experts have shared the cut-off percentage based on the comparison of the previous year and this year, students need to secure 50 percent to qualify for NEET 2020 and the results are said to be released online.
NTA will also release a merit list of All India Quota (AIQ) and the seats under 15% of AIQ are restricted to Government medical colleges. The private colleges are also taking part in state-level counseling and those seats are reserved for native (Tamilnadu) students.
