Hyderabad as record heavy rains flogged the city as well as several parts of Telangana. Thus the water levels overflowed and flooded the lower areas. The houses are staggering in the floodwater, people are suffering severely from this demonic rain, “Yellow alert” issued for Hyderabad by India Meteorological Department.
Due to continuous rainfall, a compound wall fell on nearby houses in which nine people and a two-month-old died. Eight died, on Tuesday night because of rock crashed on two houses in the Bandlaguda area. Three died in the Gaganpahad area of Hyderabad.
Hefty rain expected in Vikarabad, Jangaon, and Siddipet region. Because of waterlogging on several roads and lower areas, the Telangana government has proclaimed holidays on Wednesday and Thursday for all private institutions/non-essential services/offices and Telangana Minister Mr. K T Rama Rao has advised people to stay indoors.
Hyderabad government also declared a holiday for the next two days for all non-essentials. This gloomy situation led the authority to open 13 floodgates of Himaya Sagar dam on Wednesday to let the excess water to the river flows through the cities. The city has witnessed the highest rainfall within 24 Hours.
