Prime Minister Narendra Modi today unveiled a special commemorative coin worth 75 rupees to mark the 75th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and its long association with India.
In addition, on the eve of World Food Day, the Prime Minister dedicated 17 varieties of 8 recently developed bio-enriched crops to the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that this year’s Nobel Peace Prize was a great achievement for the World Food Programme and that India was pleased that our contribution to it was historically significant.
