In a heartwarming story, Hyderabad Metro ran a special train at night to help a pregnant woman safely reach her destination when the city was drenched in heavy rains.
Hyderabad on Wednesday witnessed heavy rains that inundated roads, flooded houses, toppled and swept away vehicles and left 19 people dead, as unprecedented rains lashed the capital city, besides some other districts in Telangana.
On the same day, a pregnant woman arrived at the Victoria Memorial metro station after 9 pm and requested authorities to drop her at Miyapur metro station in Cyberabad. The Hyderabad metro services run from 7 am to 9 pm amid coronavirus pandemic.

There were no trains scheduled on any route as the woman had arrived at the station after the working hours of the metro services. However, the authorities decided to run a special metro train for the pregnant woman so that she could safely reach her destination.
She then left in the special train from Victoria Memorial metro station at 10 pm and reached Miyapur metro station at 10.40 pm.
