Ganesan’s wife Amirdham (60) is from Tiruvallur near Ilayankudi. She is a physically challenged person and is receiving an amount of Rs.1,000 every month.
Amirdham came to the market weekly near the governor’s office to buy vegetables. Yesterday a male physically challenged person who came there told his grandmother that the allowance had been increased to Rs. 1,500 and that she had to file a request letter with the governor’s office to get it.
When they went near to the governor’s office, the person told the old woman that they would not buy the petition if she wore jewelry around her neck.
The grandmother then handed a 3-pound chain to the man. The man fled with the jewelry.
