Eknath Khadse was a minister during the last BJP rule in Maharashtra. The senior leader lost his ministerial post to corruption. He was not given a chance to contest the last assembly election.
In this situation, it was reported that he had left the BJP and joined the Nationalist Congress. However, this was denied by BJP state president Chandrakanth Patil. Eknath Khadse also denied reports that he had left the BJP. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and state minister Jayant Patil today said that Eknath Khadse, who had worked for the BJP’s development in Maharashtra for many years, had resigned. He also said he would formally join the Nationalist Congress Party.

To confirm that, Eknath Khadse left the BJP. The party has sent a letter of resignation to state president Chandrakanth Patil, demanding his resignation as a basic member of the party.
