On the eve of Diwali, bonuses are given to central government employees. Employees are paid a bonus each year based on their previous year’s performance. This bonus is given annually before Durga Pooja and Dasara.

But the release of the bonus announcement for central government employees this year comes as the country faces a general freeze and a major economic downturn caused by the corona. This caused great confusion among the Central Government employees.
So the railway employees presented a bonus and called for a strike. The All India Railway Employees’ Federation had announced a two-hour nationwide strike on the 22nd (today) if the bonus was not declared by the 21st.the Central Government has announced that bonuses will be given to railway employees across the country.

The Union Cabinet has approved a bonus for 11.58 lakh railway employees (non-gazetted category). The Union Cabinet has approved an allocation of Rs 2,081.68 crore for 78 days pay bonus. A maximum bonus of Rs 17,951 per employee is expected.
