Tamil Nadu has recently been divided into 4 districts and 5 new districts have been created. Kanchipuram district was divided into Kanchipuram and Chengalpattu districts. Vellore district was divided into Vellore, Ranipettai, and Tirupati districts.

Villupuram district was divided into Villupuram and Kallakurichi districts and Nellai district into Nellai and Tenkasi districts. 5 districts have been newly formed in that category.
Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy laid the foundation through video at the General Secretariat to build the Collector’s Office for the newly created Chengalpattu and Kallakurichi districts. Chengalpattu at a cost of Rs 119.21 crore and the Kallakurichi District Collector’s Office is being built at a cost of Rs 104 crore.
The foundation stone has already been laid for the Ranipet District Collector’s Office in Tirupati. Of the 5 new districts, only Tenkasi has not yet been selected for the Collector’s Office.
