In Karnataka, it has been decided to open all types of colleges from November 17. The decision was taken after a consultative meeting of ministers and senior officials chaired by Chief Minister Yediyurappa today.
At the same time, students can study online from home. Students can decide whether to come to college or study from home. The meeting also decided that if they want to come and study in college, they have to get the approval of their parents.
Teachers are allowed to decide how many sections the class can be divided into, depending on how many students are prepared for it.
According to Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Ashwat Narayanan, online classes have been started from October on the recommendation of the UGC. States were advised to look at the situation and open colleges. Accordingly, we have made this decision. We have now decided that it would be right to open the colleges on November 17th after Deepavali. The government will issue standard guidelines to colleges and hostels and ask them to take appropriate security measures.
