Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was released from custody on the 13th after 14 months. She then met with reporters yesterday for the first time. At that time, she said that she was in harmony with an independent, democratic, and secular India and was not comfortable with today’s India.
She said she would not hoist any other flag without bringing back the state flag of Jammu and Kashmir and would only hoist the national flag if it was brought back. This concept has caused controversy. The BJP and Congress have condemned his speech.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP leader Ravinder Raina said: “I urge Deputy Governor Manoj Sinha to take note of the treasonous views of Mehbooba Mufti. She should be imprisoned. We will sacrifice every drop of our blood for our national flag and motherland.
Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of our country. So only one flag can be mounted. That is the national flag. The decision taken by the central government last year to remove the special status of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be reversed. I warn leaders like Mehbooba Mufti not to provoke the people of Kashmir”.
