Sasikala, a friend of the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, was convicted in accumulation of property and was lodged in a Bangalore jail on February 17, 2017.
She was sentenced to 4 years in jail and fined Rs 10 crore. Sasikala was imprisoned for 3 years and 8 months. She will have to stay in jail for another 3 months (until January). But his supporters say she will be released early because of his good behavior.

Sasikala’s lawyer Raja Senthur Pandian said: “The court has been adjourned till today (27th) ahead of the Dasara festival in the state of Karnataka. So there will be any information from the court tomorrow as expected. If Sasikala is informed to pay the fine from the court they will inform me about it by letter.
Thereby we will arrange to pay the money in court immediately. So we expect important information to come from Sasikala tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Sasikala’s release will be known in 2 days. Thus he spoke.
