The Government of Tamil Nadu has declared a 23-day public holiday in Tamil Nadu in 2021. In it, it has been informed that all the offices and educational institutions under the control of the Government of Tamil Nadu should be given government holidays on the days mentioned in the list.
Accordingly, 23 consecutive days from January 1 to December 25, 2021, have been declared public holidays.
Out of the total holidays, 6 days come on Saturdays and Sundays. Also, Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Shanmugam has said that government employees will be given leave on all Saturdays and Sundays. This is because most of the government holidays in the current year, including Diwali, fall on Saturdays and Sundays. Not only this, most of the public holidays coming up this year are working days.
