Our body has an internal clock controlled by light, which is known as the circadian cadence. Any disruptions in this cadence can influence your well-being negatively. Sleep disorders are especially related to such disturbances within the circadian beat and don’t have any positive health results within the brief or long run.
Postponed rest stage disorder or DSPS is one such rest disorder.Stanford Health Care defines DSPS as a sleep disorder in which a person’s sleep is delayed by two hours or more beyond what is considered to be the conventional bedtime for good health.
This usually means that a person with DSPS goes to sleep around 2 am or after that every night. Delayed sleep time causes insufficient sleep, inability to wake up on time and daytime sleepiness. It also delays the entire clock of the next day, thereby affecting meal timings, work, exercise, leisure and other activities.
