In Tamil Nadu, the anti-corruption police have been conducting daily raids on government offices and confiscating bribes. Cases are being registered against the concerned government officials and employees. In that regard, since the beginning of this month, 35 government offices have been raided for almost a month.
Most of the testing took place in the affiliated offices. 13 Sir Registrar’s Offices have undergone the test. A maximum of Rs 33 lakh 73 thousand in unaccounted cash was seized at the Vellore Pollution Control Board Zonal Office.
Vellore Pollution Control Board Zonal Officer, Panneer Selvam’s house was raided and Rs 3 crore 25 lakh 20 thousand was seized. 450 pounds of gold jewelery and 60 kg of silver items were found there.

Rs 4.12 crore cash was seized from 35 government offices raided. In Chennai, the inspection was carried out at the offices of the Registrar at Nilangarai, Pammal, Kunrathur, and Chenkunram. The test was also carried out at the Office of the Rural Development Assistant Administrative Engineer in Villivakkam and the Office of the Executive Engineer of the Adyar Drinking Water Drainage Board. Anti-corruption director Jayant Murali has ordered a series of raids on government offices in the run-up to Diwali.
