Metro rail service was suspended in the last week of March due to the spread of corona infection. Following the announcement of the relaxation, train services from the airport metro station to Washermenpet started on September 7 and from Barangimalai metro station via MGR Central metro station via Koyembedu on September 9.
Of this, 10 lakh 63 thousand 416 people traveled, including 3 lakh 60 thousand 193 in September and 7 lakh 3 thousand 223 in October.

Of these 19 thousand 607 passengers used the QR code ticket system and 4 lakh, 34 thousand 289 passengers used the travel card system. The rest traveled on token tickets.
