During the curfew, electronic transactions across the country increased. The amount of money being transacted continues to rise.
The number of money transfers made by UPI has crossed 2 billion in October, said Amitabh Kant, CEO of the Finance Commission.

The number of transactions in October last year was 1.14 billion. It rose 80 percent to 2.07 billion in October this year. Similarly, the transaction volume rose by 101% to Rs 3,86,106.74 crore from Rs 1,91,359.94 crore.
