On October 28, the vehicular Subway was opened, making the difficulty of having to take a five-kilometer to reroute to reach CTH Road a thing of the past for drivers. The new facility replaces the railway level crossing (LC No: 04) in Korattur.
This railway under the bridge a joint extend of the Southern Railroad and the State Highways Division will give easy access to zones within the northern portion of the neighborhood including Agraharam, Balaji Nagar, Sivalingapuram, Kavya Nagar, Saradha Nagar, and Subbulakshmi Nagar.

“We are glad that the railway underbridge opened some time recently, overwhelming downpours because it is planning to give residents easy get to neighboring areas,” says V. Over a long time, inhabitants and drivers have had to require a reroute of at slightest five kilometers whereas heading to numerous other parts of the city through CTH Road.
Korattur railway station, located on Chennai Central – Arakkonam section, has four tracks with two of them being used for the suburban rail network. The existing Foot Over Bridge (FOB) at the station is mainly used by commuters to reach the platforms at the station. Pre-COVID days, more than 40,000 commuters used to board trains at the Korattur railway station every day.
